Release Beta v1.0
🚀Beta v1.0 — Launching the Qumulus Cloud Platform Public Beta
(15th January 2025)
We are excited to announce the public beta release of Qumulus Cloud Platform, a modern and simplified cloud infrastructure experience. Our first-ever release represents an important achievement toward building an innovative and friendly Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform.
We aim to empower developers, startups, and businesses by simplifying cloud resource management, cost optimization, enhancing scalability, and ensuring top-notch security.
🔍Highlights of Beta v1.0
Instant VM Deployment
Feature Overview: You can create high-performance virtual machines (VMs) through our optimized provisioning system within 60 seconds.
Practical Example: Imagine you're a developer and want to test a new feature for your application. For that, you need an environment. With Qumulus, you can spin up a VM instantly, conduct your tests, all within minutes.
Benefit: This quick deployment shortens the development cycle, reduces downtime, and enhances productivity.
Automatic Network Configuration
Feature Overview: A default Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), along with subnet and router are established for every project through automatic configuration.
Practical Example: When initiating a new project, the foundational network components are pre-configured, freeing your attention to focus on application deployment while skipping complex network configurations.
Benefit: The automated setup streamlines new user access through standardized network configuration, which decreases configuration mistakes and creates secure and effective network architecture right away.
Built-in Security
Feature Overview: Security is a cornerstone of Qumulus. Each project comes with standard security groups while giving you full flexibility to produce and operate your own SSH key pairs.
Practical Example: Every team member needs his or her own individual SSH key pair for secure and customized resource access during project collaboration.
Benefit: It provides strong security through strict access control management and simplifies permission management tasks.
💬Why This Release Matters
Our public beta marks more than a typical product launch because it demonstrates our commitment to simplicity, speed, and security. Qumulus aims to be the go-to platform for developers and businesses that aims to solve typical challenges of cloud infrastructure management.
We are developing fundamental infrastructure that will enable users to access a fully portable cloud, which allows them to deploy workloads on-premise, with predictable pricing and zero vendor lock-in.
💡What’s Next?
We are actively getting feedback from our beta users to refine and enhance the platform. The upcoming features listed in our development plan consist of:
Advanced volume management
Flexible reboot options (Soft and Hard)
Deeper monitoring and diagnostic tools
Load Balancer
Kuberentes
These are just a few, there are more features we have on our list.
💡Explore QUMs — With the platform beta we have unveiled QUM, unique pricing and compute abstraction: QUM [ the Compute Unit].
One QUM = 8 vCPUs + 20 GB RAM + 200 GB Storage + Unlimited Network
QUM represents your main computing unit in cloud infrastructure. You can create multiple VMs inside a defined QUM quota, while freely selecting your workloads without worrying about price changes.
Thank you for being part of this journey — The Qumulus Team 🚀
